Find out how the Renters’ Rights Act affects your tenancy

1 min read

The Renters’ Rights Act brings in new protections for people renting their homes. It aims to make renting more secure, fair and transparent.

If you rent from us privately, these changes may affect your tenancy now. If you’re a social rent customer, the changes are expected to apply from 2027. We’ll keep you updated and write to you when anything changes.

What this means if you rent privately

We’ve written to all affected private rent customers and shared the Government’s Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026

In simple terms, the law is designed to:

  • give you more security in your home

  • make it easier to challenge unfair practices

  • improve standards in rented homes.
